Infecting more than two hundred and nineteen million people internationally as of September 2021, SARS-Cov2 (COVID-19) remains a major health crisis despite the availability vaccines in many countries publicized guidance on effective preventative measures (WHO, 2021). To combat spread virus, governments worldwide have found themselves relying their ability to exert control over behaviors public private spaces. Visual communication, which includes both graphics text, are an integral component how these behavioral advisories communicated public. Authorities translate scientific information into digestible designs for achieve understanding actionable protective measures. How presenting assessing effectiveness COVID-19-related information? Are there opportunities maximize communication develop models using existing frameworks?
 This interdisciplinary literary review pairs three risk with design framework analyze COVID-19 materials shared by international governing agencies. Crisis Emergency Risk Communication (CERC) blends popular disaster mitigation approaches create model that considers all stages response (Reynolds Seeger, 2007). The Protective Action Decision Model (PADM; Lindell Perry, 2012) Scenario Transition Viewing Reading (Jaenichen, 2017) highlight importance considering context when crafting increase likelihood message comprehension under stressed circumstances. Design perspectives incorporated through semiological lens Jacques Bertin’s research visual compositions (Bertin, 1983). Graphics sampled from websites used illustrate leveraging strategy communicating about scenarios.
